Detroit Free Press: Your next metro Detroit hotel stay will look different: What you'll notice
“Hotels across metro Detroit are launching expansive cleaning protocols, adding acrylic shields in public areas, rethinking breakfast bars and offering add-on services such as sanitizing kits in a wide-scale effort to make travelers feel safe.
The changes, along with cheaper rates in some cases, come as the hospitality industry slowly reopens statewide after suddenly finding itself closed or with few bookings following the coronavirus outbreak.
In downtown Rochester, the upscale Royal Park Hotel reopened May 18 after reviewing and making changes throughout its operation. Among them: ordering a Clorox Total 360 electrostatic sprayer system that targets viruses and bacteria, offering sanitizing kits that include disinfectant and gloves for guests, having disposable carryout menus and napkins at its restaurant and creating a brochure and YouTube video explaining its safety and sanitation procedures, said general manager Susan Keels.”
